Job Description

Adams & Martin Group is supporting a well-established and highly respected Minnesota law firm is seeking a Municipal Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join its growing public sector practice. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with municipalities and public entities while handling a diverse range of complex and meaningful litigation matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent municipalities and other public entities in state and federal court
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, hearings, mediations, and trials
  • Advise municipal clients on risk management, compliance, and litigation strategy
  • Draft persuasive legal briefs, motions, and memoranda
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced municipal attorneys while also managing cases independently
  • Engage directly with city staff, elected officials, and governing bodies

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, with municipal, governmental, or public sector experience strongly preferred
  • Active license to practice law in Minnesota (or ability to obtain promptly)
  • Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently
  • Professional judgment, attention to detail, and client-focused approach
